Kavon goldens are raised in a Country setting, 30 miles from Vegreville Alberta. Our dogs get lots of natural exercise and are a part of our family. All puppies are raised in the house, all have house manners. My dogs are used as demo dogs for my dog training classes and help to socialize dogs that come to train in our facility. Our goldens go to Seniors lodges were I work to brighten up the day of the residents.
Our dogs compete in conformation and performance events I believe that a great temperament is of utmost importance. The dogs that we raise will become members of the families that purchase them. They must be healthy, trainable and loveable. All health clearances are done on our breeding stock, before a litter is even considered.
We have a 40 X 40 dog training centre with a fenced agility area in the front. The building is used to train our dogs as well as teach classes in.
I got my first golden in 1981 from Brenda Roberts of Meryl-T Kennels. Ch. & OT. Ch Meryl-T Kavon Premiere Titus TD was a fantastic dog. He could do anything you asked of him and excelled in the confirmation, obedience and tracking. Titus was almost 7 years old before we purchased our first female golden retriever Sasha “Winchester’s Slaxen Belle CDX” Sasha and Titus produced several champion offspring including Ch. Kavon’s Chelsea Dawn CDX, Ch. Kavon’s Remember Me and Ch. Kavon’s The Beat Goes On. These two dogs laid the foundation for the goldens retrievers of Kavon Kennels. They were wonderful family dogs that loved doing what ever was asked of them.
One of our best show dogs was BISS Ch. Kavon’s Encore Cyrus (A Titus son) Cyrus won many Group 1st and was the Sporting Dog of the Year in Saskatchewan three times. Cyrus achieved his Show Dog Hall of Fame and was handled by Ann Koots of Edmonton.
